Colley Wright Brook Watershed
Location:
The Colley Wright Brook watershed is in the southern section of Windham. It extends from Route 302 to River Road.
Size:
Colley Wright Brook watershed is one of the smallest sub-watersheds in the Presumpscot River watershed system. At approximately 7.7 square miles, it makes up 4% of the Presumpscot River watershed system.
Population:
The population of the Colley Wright Brook watershed is a little over 2,000, or 3% of the population in the Presumpscot River watershed system.
Impervious Surfaces:
Impervious surfaces are those surfaces in the landscape that cannot infiltrate rainfall, such as rooftops, pavement, sidewalks, driveways and compacted earth. Impervious surface areas of 10% or greater are often correlated with reduced water quality. Approximately 8% of the Colley Wright Brook watershed, more than 380 acres, is comprised of impervious surfaces.
